The last two years, I have had the privilege to be a Corporate Trainer for Fanshawe College. During that time, I’ve created the curriculum and led workshops for over 100 business owners on marketing, user experience, psychology, and analytics right here in London. This one was a bit different.
Here’s a shot from my workshop for specialized students in high school (including my high school Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary). I’m always overwhelmed with how smart these kids are. Sometimes, I feel a bit slighted by the traditional education I received. I believe there are so many of us that even after finishing school felt vastly unprepared for the world. I know I did. I went to University and learned so much, but I didn’t know what to do with that knowledge. I felt like I didn’t have a skill set. I didn’t know what to do with my hands.
It means a lot to be a part of programs like this that are showing future generations technical skills and practical applications. There is new curriculum being added to teach students financial literacy and a growing amount of experiential learning programs being added to education. There is a long way to go, but when we innovate and invest in young kids like this, we make a brighter future for all. Thanks for letting me be a part of that!
