Honouring Your New Year’s Resolutions

Honouring Your New Year's Resolutions

This is is part of my live-learning series! I will be updating this post as I continue through my journey. I apologize for any grammatical errors or incoherent thoughts. This is a practice to help me share things that are valuable without falling apart from the pressure of perfection.

In this quick video, I share an update and reflect on honouring (and not honouring) your New Year’s Resolution.

Alright, hello my name is Tyler Bryden and I’m here today is just a little bit update video. I have video plan but. I started it that man, that’s all. He came downstairs and I just got in my head and and it’s not his fault.

It’s my fault. I’m tired and watching this God damn Capitol Hill shit you know this Democratic elected Democratic wind down in Georgia and these you know these nights have kept me up watching these things at the start of the end of December 2020. I said I’m going to delete, write it off my phone and it’s already made its way back on it and. And so, as these things have happened, it’s very hard to not do the scroll. And Oh my God, look at all these comments coming through. You know dozens or hundreds at once and just information stimulation in in,

in, in, in. And. And so it’s been some late nights and what I’ve been trying to do every day here has been a video a day. You know about high quality content for every day during the week, and I’ve been successful last week. I mean one week one early now I guess, so roughly 2 depending on how you define it. And again, I had a video that I was sort of working on today, but I just sort of felt this lol.

And energy I can see to my eyes I can feel it in my. I’m just I’m you guys probably feel like if you watched videos these videos you’ll see like ups and downs in my mood and my energy and would love to say it was just as consistent. You know person that we had, you know this was always, you know, sort of. Baseline the same. But depending on sleep, depending on all these things I seem to, you know, change a lot and very important sort of piece that I want to do but. I just didn’t feel like it was the right energy, and you know, for I was working to push through it and then when that’s all came down it was sort of just a sign of,

you know, just you can do this another day together. Don’t put this pressure on yourself. You know you’re working really hard. You’re doing a good job already and you just you don’t have to. Practice internal pressure is off.

Take a break when you need it. Take some time when you need it, like it doesn’t always need to be this perfect schedule that you set up yourself. Of course, you’re trying to honor and stay committed to what you’re doing. When I’ve logged, you know 10 hours already today and sometimes it’s just not going to be the high quality output that you want, and so this video doesn’t really have, you know as much of a topic or anything. It’s just me giving a little bit of an update and also just a bit of reflection on.

You know, we all start with these amazing resolutions. The you know, as we’re heading into a new year, you know one of them being fucking. Keep reading off my phone and and then make video every single day and. Seven days in and read it back on my phone and you know realistically I’m making a video right now, but it wasn’t the ideal one that that I wanted. And so just a reminder and just something to.

You know to think about is that it doesn’t always have to be perfect. You don’t always have to hit every single. You know deadline for yourself that you’re putting on an. It’s OK if as you try to build new habits as you try to grow that you don’t achieve everything perfectly the way that you want, so I don’t think I have too much more to say.

I just wanted to. It was an amazing Terry Crews said this amazing thing. Kerry Cruz is awesome. Awesome guys, completely wrapped and he said if you were trying to build a habit to go to the gym. Even on days you don’t feel like working out, or even if you’re just trying to work up, don’t. Just go to the gym, just sit down, you know just. You don’t have to work out if you don’t feel like it that day, but build that habit of doing it, and so even though I didn’t quite get the video that I hoped out today,

I did I recorded this video I’m going to share this video on YouTube and it’s not the ideal. It’s not the full accomplishment, but at least I’m continuing that habit and I’m, you know, building that commitment and an honoring honoring that and building this streak so. I am starting to feel a little bit more comfortable with this. I’m happy I feel very comfortable in the house that I’m at working beside that. So you know, this camera and audio setup makes me very happy and.

You know forever a start of a year after pretty wild 2020. I really have nothing to complain about, so just wanted to say hi, check in. I know you know not many people are watching this right now, but that’s OK. I I’m building that habit and don’t let you know you know, for if you’re doing something like this or you’re working to grow something and you’re not getting the feedback or that views or the you know the growth that you’re looking for right away, don’t don’t worry about it.

Do it for you. Build that habit and and do the things that you want to do. And. That’s all, thank you very much for joining me here. I hope everything is going well and that you’re having a great start to 2021. Thank you to anyone who’s listening to anyone who’s watching this. It really doesn’t mean a lot, and I hope to connect with you again soon.
