“Perspectives on Psychedelics
Horizons creates events and classes that examine the role of psychedelic drugs and plant medicines in science, medicine, culture, and spirituality.
Horizons: Perspectives on Psychedelics , our flagship event in the autumn, is the largest and longest-running annual gathering of the psychedelic community in the world.
Horizons Media, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational charity.
Horizons began as a single-afternoon event at Judson Memorial Church in October of 2007, featuring a handful of leading researchers and activists from the then-nascent psychedelic renaissance.
Horizons now offers year-round live and virtual learning and education programs, including classes for medical and mental health professionals, forums with speakers from around the world, and its flagship conference in October is joined by a weeklong unofficial program of parties, art exhibitions, fundraisers, film screenings, and other activities.
Horizons live programs take place at some of New York’s most historic and celebrated auditoriums and houses of worship.
Judson Memorial Church, its original location, is Mead, McKim, & White-designed landmark and a center for progressive thought and culture since the mid-twentieth century.
In 2020, we’re pleased to be partnering with so many locations with a rich history of intellectual exploration, including the New York Society for Ethical Culture, The New York Academy of Medicine, and of course, The Great Hall at The Cooper Union.
Horizons Media, Inc. is a 501c(3) not-for-profit educational charity led by Kevin Balktick, its Founder & Director, along with fellow board members Ingmar Gorman, Ph.D., and James Vasile, Esq.”
