This a live learning article on how to prepare for a successful Google Play Store Android App launch. We may have a horrible launch 😂 But, the goal is to do our best we can to prepare. If we fail at the start, we will learn a lot and I will share that with you. Hopefully, if we iterate and continue to learn over time, we will someday make this Android app successful.
I can’t tell you the feeling of seeing an Android app Icon and actually using it! What a moment in my life. It’s my first ever app in the Google Play Store. I’ve been using it quite regularly now and I can wholeheartedly say it’s made my life better.
What is the App?
The Android app is something we’ve been working on for quite a while now! We are very excited to release this to the world. This fits nicely with our work at Speak Ai and Sessions.ai. We have a bit more work to do around branding and messaging but the technology is there.
We are taking an iterative approach. We’ve generated our first version which allows users to immediately capture audio notes. In one click, you can capture thoughts and meetings. The recordings will be stored locally on your phone. You can playback the audio anytime you want. That will be completely free!
If you want to analyze and transcribe the audio you can hit the “Analyze” button. Based on the length of the audio, it will generate a cost for you. If you have a subscription plan it will automatically include your free minutes. Sign up and check out our subscription plans today!
Lol, this was from a test where the costs aren’t done properly. We have a large balance on our account 😂. The price per minute will be lower, and again, a certain amount of hours will be included if you sign up for a plan!
You have the option to get the transcript and analysis or just the transcript from your audio file. The transcription with insights is a bit more expensive but in my mind so worth it. We’ll continue to work to make the technology more accessible but I do hope you can trust me when I saw have some amazing things coming down the pipeline if you do invest in the insights.
Setting Google Play Store Android App Launch Goals
To be successful, we need to understand what success is. What are the average installs on a new app in the Google Play Store? What about in different categories? Are our goals conversative, aspirational and realistic? How do we determine success as people? How do we determine success as a business?

Android Developer
First of all, I needed to find the app. You can log into your Android Developer account here.
You’ll see:
I took a screenshot of this with the Nimbus Recorder which is an awesome Google Chrome extension. However, it generates the image as a PNG which is too heavy for a webpage. So, I had to convert it to a JPG. If you need to do that, you can use https://png2jpg.com/ free anytime!

Break Time
This was a lot already! I’m about to go for a bike ride, pick up my credit card which has expired. I’m always trying to stay in flow and I can feel my mental energy depleting for this task. Time for some exercise and fresh air! This makes me so excited. I look forward to being back and sharing more.
