“We are the Society for Psychedelic Outreach, Reform, and Education”
On May 7, 2019 Denver became the first city in the United States to decriminalize the personal possession, use, and cultivation of psilocybin mushrooms. The success of the Denver Psilocybin Initiative (DPI) not only inspired a nationwide grassroots movement but also demonstrated that Americans are ready to explore the potential of psychedelics to help solve some of our most troubling issues.
SPORE was created by a group of DPI organizers intent on answering the question: “what happens after decriminalization?” As stewards and mycelial bridge-builders of the emerging psychedelic ecosystem, we are committed to creating solidarity and synergy between diverse communities and efforts to discover what’s needed and what’s possible with psychedelic outreach, education, and reform.
