I’ve been running a lot lately but there continues to be some weight that I can’t seem to shed. I started to do some assessment and noticed a few things that I was eating every day that differed from when I was last in good shape with minimal body fat.
I was having chai tea with a big ratio of milk in the morning. I was adding bananas, yogurt, and lots of peanut butter to my smoothies. I was often eating frozen fruit and yogurt for dinner.
In my new smoothie, I am only adding water, avocado and protein powder. Okay, maybe a bit of peanut butter.
All of this wraps around trying to shed some fat. To do this, it is important to curb your appetite. I don’t mean this in an unhealthy way. I often find myself craving carbs and sugar when I am trying to fast. So, I am exploring healthy ways to curb my appetite and I hope that helps you curb your appetite too.
Based on some research, here are some ways to curb your appetite:
One main thing I will say is water is one of the best tools for this. So many times I have been hungry I’ve just drunk water and that hunger has gone away. I was dehydrated not hungry. It comes with consequences. For me, I have to pee a lot. It’s great to be hydrated but I also get frustrated having to leave my desk and losing a flow state because I have to pee. These are true first-world problems.
For example, eggs. Protein makes you feel full and helps you prevent muscle loss.
